Rodney Steel Bentley The Cars from Crewe
When the first new post-war Bentleys ermerged from Rolls-Royce´s former aero-engine factory at
Crewe in 1946, it was the beginning of a new era for one of Britain´s most famous sporting marques.
A
Le Mans winner in the 1920´s, a Derby-built luxury sports car in the 1930´s, the next generation of Bentleys was to carry the ´silent sports car´ image into the 1950´s with dignity and style. Available with either a standard steel body or a variety of special coachwork produced by the cram of British coachbuilders in a final spectacular flowering of their art, the Mark VI Bentley was an elegant sporting carriage.
The R-Type of 1952, with a larger engine introduced in 1951 and more spacious boot, maintained the Bentley´s superiority in the luxury high-perfomance market, and the advent of the superbly streamlined 120-mph R-Type Continental in the same year was a major landmark in the company´s history…..

20 Silver Ghosts
Rolls-Royce – the name conjures up a proud, clean-cut silver radiator surmounted by the famous “ flying lady”, but more than that it is a synonym for excellence. So classic, simple, and chaste, the original radiator has been passed down to us for the current Rolls-Royce cars, a distinctive heirloom well known throughout the world. No wonder that this car became an obsession for Melbourne Brindle even as a young boy; he actually manufactured a “Rolls” from original parts he was able to secured and the chassis of another car he owned.
Mr. Brindle left his native as a young man bound for , and soon was successful enough as an artist to afford an original Rolls-Royce, and a number of other vintage cars along the way. Still obsessed by the first Rolls-Royce he ever saw – the Silver Ghost – he began to make paintings of the best examples he could find. One of the results of his enduring enthusiasm is the magnificent collection of paintings now published in 20 SILVER GHOSTS. |

Bentley Fifty Years of the Marque
Over fifty Years have now passed since W.O.Bentley designed and built the first 3-litre Bentley in a mews off Baker Street, London. A Car and a name was createdwhich was to catch the imagination of millions and which today still rouses the envy of all those not fortunate enough to have owned one of these superb machines, whether Cricklewood, Derby or Crewe made.
“BENTLEY Fifty Years of the Marque” is mainly a pictorial tribute to that excellent motor-car written by Johnnie Green, a great car enthusiast, whose devotion to Bentleys is unsurpassed, a member of the Bentley Drivers Club, from whose files a mass of material was obtained.
Nearly 600 photographs follow the development of Bentleys from No. 1 3-litre of 1919 to the T series of 1969. The bulk of these photographs have never before been published: over 250 vintage Bentleys, over 200
Derby and more than 100
Crewe cars illustrated.

Rolls-Royce in America
There are many entusiasts who imagine that all coachwork mounted on the Springfield Rolls-Royce was built by Brewster. By the time they have looked at all the 446 illustrations in this book, John de Campi will have impressed upon them error in their thinking.
Within these pages are illustrated nearly every different design of coachwork that was ever mounted in on a Rolls-Royce chassis. One can compare the
Sudbury with the
Nottingham , the Paddington with the Buckingham and sort out the
Ascot ,
Derby and Speedster differences. Non-American readers will be amazed at the diversity of designs offered as standard by Rolls-Royce.
A complete car-by-cartabulation of the
Springfield production is included, giving chassis Number, coachbuilder, type of body and other information.

Rolls-Royce Automobile und Bentley ab 1931
Rolls-Royce Automobile und Bentley ab 1931
Halwart Schrader
Verlag Schrader Automobil-Bücher
Ausgabe 1988
